Critical incident declared after motorcyclist injured - Prestons

A critical incident investigation has been launched after a male motorcyclist was injured after he collided with a vehicle in Sydney's south-west earlier this morning.

Emergency services were called to Bernera Road at Prestons to reports of a motorcycle crash around 5.30am today (Friday 11 November 2022).

Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command initiated and then terminated a pursuit involving the motorcyclist a short time before the rider collided with a vehicle and was ejected from the bike.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics then taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

A critical incident team from Bankstown Police Area Command will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject to independent review.

No further details are available at this time, however, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
