Critical incident underway following youth's death, NSW

A critical incident investigation has been launched following the death of a youth and the serious injury of another in a collision in Mt Druitt this morning, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 11am today, patrolling police sighted a motorcycle with two young males on board.

A short time later the motorcycle and a car collided in Kurrajong Avenue.

The youths were taken to The Children’s Hospital, Westmead; however, the rider died. The pillion passenger is in a serious condition.

They are yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car was uninjured and has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and a critical incident team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

That investigation will be subject to independent review and a brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

No further details are available at this time however police are calling for witnesses to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
