Critical investigation into man's death, NSW

A critical incident investigation has been launched following the death of a man at Dubbo today, NSW Police say.

About 2.20pm (Sunday 23 September 2018), police pulled over a car travelling on the Newell Highway after receiving information the driver was wanted by police for a domestic related incident.

As police approached the car they noticed the driver was unconscious and rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived.

The man was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

A critical incident investigation team from Central North Police District will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

That investigation will be subject to an independent review and will be monitored by the Law Enforcement Commission.

All information will be provided to the Coroner who will determine the cause of death and make any findings about the events leading up to the man’s death.
