Cronulla Man Charged With $360K Fraud Offences

A man has been charged with fraud offences in Sydney's south.

In March 2026, detectives attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command formed Strike Force Peatling, following reports of alleged fraudulent transactions made by an employee of a licensed venue in Cronulla.

Following extensive enquiries, about 11.25am on Wednesday 8 April 2026, police arrested a 26-year-old man at Kogarah Police Station.

He was charged with dishonestly obtain financial benefit by deception and knowingly deals with proceeds of crime.

The man was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Wednesday 8 April 2026), where he was granted conditional bail, to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 4 June 2026.

Police will allege in court the fraudulent transactions were made between 27 October 2025 and 14 February 2026, whilst the man was employed at the licensed venue, resulting in the loss of $367,230 to the venue.
