Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire in Williams Landing earlier this morning.
A passer-by alerted emergency services to the fire on Shepherd Street just after 4am.
The two-storey home was extensively damaged in the blaze with the top storey completely destroyed.
Investigators have located a hydroponic set-up in the house with approximately 50 cannabis plants growing.
The occupiers of the house were not at the address at the time of the blaze and an investigation is underway to identify them.
No-one was injured in the fire and the exact cause is still to be determined.
