Current State of Emergency restrictions extended until

The Victorian Government has announced that the State of Emergency in Victoria will be extended for another four weeks.

This now means the State of Emergency is scheduled to be lifted on 11 May, unless otherwise advised. The State of Emergency was originally due to expire on 13 April.

Due to this extension, all Council services remain as they were prior to 13 April. All Council customer service functions continue to operative via phone and email, and the Horsham Town Hall and Aquatic Centre remain closed.

Premier Daniel Andrews states that this is necessary to help stop the spread of Coronavirus and slow the rate of new COVID-10 infections.

"This is an unprecedented crisis – we need to extend the State of Emergency to help slow the spread of the virus, protect our health system and save lives."

With the State of Emergency still in place, authorised officers, including Victoria Police can continue to issue fines for those not adhering to the Stage 3 restrictions on movement.

These measures are directed by the Chief Health Officer and aim to reduce the serious risk to the public health system by slowing the spread of Coronavirus.
