Curtin University has launched the Curtin Cares campaign to help support students, nurses and teachers during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
The fundraising initiative will provide much-needed assistance to core sections of our community who are experiencing hardship or require much-needed resources during these challenging times.
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the campaign builds on Curtin's existing commitment to student support measures to help those in need through the crisis and assist them in preparing for the future.
"Through Curtin Cares, we are inviting donors, both large and small, to partner with us in delivering aid to three core groups - students, nurses and teachers," Professor Terry said.
"As bridges to the future we need to ensure our students continue learning without the spectre of financial stress and hardship; our nurses need specialised educational resources and training as they battle on the frontlines of this pandemic, particularly as 2020 is the Year of the Nurse and Midwife; and our teachers need support to help them quickly become experts in 'blended learning' techniques that bring online and face-to-face methods together."
