Cyclist airlifted in critical condition after Beaconsfield collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witness and dashcam footage following a collision which left a cyclist in critical condition in Beaconsfield last night.

Police have been told a silver Ford Falcon and cyclist collided on Old Princes Highway about 9.20pm.

The cyclist, a 31-year-old Beaconsfield man, was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old female driver from Pakenham stopped at the scene and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
