Cyclist dies following Macedon collision

A cyclist has died in hospital following a collision in Macedon this morning, Victoria Police say.

The cyclist was travelling along Black Forest Drive near Blackwood Road when he was struck from behind by a black Hyundai sedan about 9.25am.

The male rider was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he died this afternoon.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Gisborne woman, is assisting police with their enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have dash-cam footage.
