Cyclists injured after being hit by ute north of Coffs Harbour

Two cyclists have been critically injured after being hit by a ute north of Coffs Harbour this morning.

Emergency services were called to Central Bucca Road at Bucca, about 20km north of Coffs Harbour, shortly before 6.45am (Wednesday 15 April 2020), after reports the cyclists were struck when the ute turned into a driveway.

The cyclists, two men aged in their 40s, have sustained multiple injuries and were taken by road ambulance to Coffs Harbour Health Campus before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

The driver, a man aged in his 60s, has been taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus for mandatory testing. He was not injured.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit at Ballina have been called to the scene.
