From 27 January 2026, visitors to the Dalby Visitor Information Centre can experience the proud, rich history of our region from its temporary new home at Dalby Pioneer Park Museum.

The Dalby Visitor Information will temporarily close from 19 to 26 January and will reopen to welcome visitors at the new location until construction of Dalby's new cultural centre has been completed.

Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Cr Kaye Maguire said the temporary relocation offered locals and tourists a fantastic opportunity to experience Dalby's hospitality amidst the museum's rich historical offerings.

"Not only will visitors get the same expert tourism advice from our friendly staff and volunteers at the temporary new location, they'll also be surrounded by fascinating exhibits, machinery, and stories from Dalby's past - all in one welcoming spot," Cr Maguire said.

"The new setting at Pioneer Park will provide visitors with the same easy access via the Warrego Highway and offers a unique chance to connect with the Western Downs' proud heritage.

"By integrating the visitor information centre with the museum, visitors can grab tickets to explore the museum to immerse themselves in the stories, artefacts, and spirit that define our region.

"To celebrate the move, the first two visitor groups to the new site will receive complimentary tickets to the Pioneer Park Museum - an ideal way to explore Dalby's vibrant past and present."

The move comes as preparations ramp up for the construction of Dalby's highly anticipated new cultural centre in Thomas Jack Park Precinct, which will include a new visitor information centre, multipurpose cinema, library and art gallery.

"The tender for the exciting new Dalby cultural centre is now open, and the community can look forward to updates once the head contractor has been appointed," Cr Maguire said.

"In the meantime, the Pioneer Park Museum promises to deliver an enriched visitor experience, supporting local tourism and fostering pride in our region's remarkable history."

The Dalby Visitor Information Centre will reopen at Pioneer Park Museum at 9am on Tuesday 27 January 2026.

Operating hours will be 9am to 4.30pm weekdays, 10am to 2pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 12pm noon on Sundays.

There is a modest fee for entry to the museum. Entry for a single child or group of children is charged as a single $5 entry fee. Entry for adults is $10. For a large family or visitor groups, entry is charged at $25 for a group.
