Dangerous driving charge at Albion, QLD

A man wearing a skull mask allegedly rammed a police vehicle at Albion this morning after officers attempted to intercept his vehicle, Queensland Police say.

Police spotted the car around 1.15am on Hudson Street and followed it into Albion Road East, which is a dead-end street.

Officers activated the emergency lights on their unmarked car and blocked the exit from the street.

It will be alleged the man attempted several times to drive around the police vehicle before accelerating into it and pushing it backwards for a short distance.

The police officer in the passenger seat managed to exit the car, rushing over to the driver and taking him into custody.

Police will further allege that during a search of the vehicle they located a knife and a club.

Both vehicles sustained a small amount of damage and no one was injured.

A 23-year-old Albany Creek man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning charged with one count each of dangerous driving, face disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence and driving whilst under the influence of liquor or a drug.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 9.
