Police have charged a man with multiple offences including evading police, after he allegedly crashed into a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.
At 6.50pm a verbal altercation has occurred between two drivers in a carpark of Abbotsford Road, Bowen Hills. Both cars then continued inbound Abbotsford Road. It will be alleged that, at the intersection of Montpellier Road, a Mitsubishi Triton has collided with the rear of a Ford Ranger.
The driver of the Mitsubishi Triton then drove away.
Just before 7.00pm, police attempted to intercept the vehicle on Brookes Street, however, the Triton has driven off at speed. Police did not follow the utility.
It will be further alleged that, at 7.05pm, at the intersection of Abbotsford Road and Campbell Street, the Mitsubishi Triton has gone through a red light and collided with a Tesla, which then hit a pedestrian crossing the road.
A 25-year-old Goodna man has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, fail to comply with duties of driver in a crash, fail to provide specimen breath, and evade police.
He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, 1 June.
The pedestrian, a Bowen Hills woman in her sixties, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
