Dangerous Driving Charges, West End

A man has been charged after he allegedly deliberately drove into a police vehicle in West End this morning.

Around 7am, police observed a stolen Mazda vehicle in an underground carpark off Ryan Street. It will be alleged police parked their unmarked vehicle behind the car and as they approached the driver, he deliberately reversed into the police vehicle before driving from the scene.

A 39-year-old man was arrested a short time later at unit on Lutwyche Road in Windsor.

He has been charged with two counts of endangering a police officer when driving a motor vehicle, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, and driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

It will be further alleged the Mazda was stolen from an Everton Park house early Tuesday morning.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage to contact police.
