Police have charged a 27-year-old man with a number of offences following a series of alleged incidents that occurred in the Moreton District between December 1 and 3, Queensland Police say.
It will be alleged that around 7.50pm on December 1, police observed a Ford Falcon utility travelling in excess of the speed limit on the Daguilar Highway at Wamuran. Police attempted to intercept the vehicle, but the vehicle accelerated away.
It will be further alleged that around 7.30pm on December 2, police observed the Ford Falcon utility outside an address on Ashmore Road at Redcliffe.
Officers parked two unmarked police vehicles behind and beside the utility. The driver of the utility allegedly reversed into one of the police vehicles before accelerating away at speed. Police pursued the vehicle for a short time but ceased the pursuit after the vehicle failed to stop and allegedly traveled through two red lights.
Around 9.30pm on December 3, it will be alleged that police located the Ford Falcon utility outside an address on John Street, Caboolture South. A man that was standing by the vehicle has fled on foot on seeing police and ignored a number of directions to stop.
The man was located under a house on Rosemary Street in Caboolture South. It is alleged the man violently resisted arrest and spat at officers while being taken into custody.
A 27-year-old Delaneys Creek man has been charged with eight counts of obstruct police, three counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop, and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, two counts of assault police, and one count each of disobeying the speed limit, trespass, failure to wear seatbelt, and wilful damage of police property.
He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.
