Dangerous operation motor vehicle in Maroochydore, QLD

A police officer has received minor injuries after being dragged a short distance by a vehicle intercepted in Maroochydore overnight, Queensland Police say.

Around 12.30am police stopped alongside a car driving in Church Street and conducted a roadside breath test with the male driver.

The man has then allegedly started driving away from the scene with a male officer trapped in the window of the vehicle, dragging him along Church Street before turning onto Beach Road where he eventually fell to to the roadway.

The man was last seen allegedly driving at speed towards Maroochy Boulevard.

Police have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, bald with a large solid build and a large tribal tattoo on his right shoulder as well as tattoos on his forearm.

The vehicle is described as a red 2003 Holden Commodore with registration 337SDQ

The police officer involved in the incident received minor injuries to his legs.
