Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in Noosa Heads, QLD

Police have charged a man following an alleged evade police incident in Noosa Heads early this morning., Queensland Police say>

At around 12.20am police were patrolling in the Noosa junction area when they allegedly observed a car speeding east along Noosa Drive.

Police followed the vehicle activating their emergency lights and siren. It will be alleged the vehicle slowed but did not stop, continuing to drive up Noosa Hill.

When the vehicle stopped, officers instructed the driver to turn the vehicle off and lower the driver door window. It will be alleged the man failed to comply and drove away along Noosa Parade.

A short time later police successfully deployed tyre deflation devices at the intersection of Cooyar Street and Safari Street.

Police later sighted the vehicle on Honey Myrtle Road where the driver was taken into custody.

A 39-year-old Noosa Heads man has been charged with six counts of failure to stop and two counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.

He has also been charged with one count each of driving without due care or attention and failure to remain with a vehicle.

He is due to appear in Noosa Magistrates Court on January 10, 2017.
