Dangerous operation of a vehicle charges, Logan to South Brisbane

A man has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly failing to stop for police whilst travelling in a stolen car from Logan to South Brisbane overnight, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 12.30am police attempted to intercept a stolen vehicle on Allgas Street at Slacks Creek.

The car drove away and was later sighted on Rudge Street at Woodridge before allegedly evading police again.

POLAIR was deployed after the vehicle was seen allegedly travelling at speed in the wrong direction along Kingston Road towards oncoming cars with no headlights.

The car then headed onto the Logan Motorway at Loganholme and travelled through various parts of the Logan District before being sighted allegedly turning through a red light from Fairfield Road to the incorrect side of Annerley Road at Annerley.

The vehicle continued travelling along Gladstone Road and onto Montague Road where police successfully deployed stingers.

The driver abandoned the damaged car two blocks away on Hocking Street and was pursued on foot by police before being arrested.

A 24-year-old Meadowbrook man has been charged with four counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, two counts of fail to stop motor vehicle, unlawful use of motor vehicle, failure to appear in accordance with undertaking and breach of bail condition.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
