Dangerous Operation of motor vehicle in Mundingburra, QLD

Police are investigating an alleged dangerous driving incident in the Townsville area this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

At about 3.44pm, police intercepted an alleged stolen blue Hyundai sedan on Ross River Road, Mundingburra.

It is alleged the vehicle came to a stop then accelerated, ramming the police vehicle and leaving the scene at speed.

The vehicle was later located abandoned in the Vincent area.

A 16-year-old Mount Pleasant girl and a 14-year-old South Mackay girl were located a short time later and are assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations are continuing in relation to two outstanding occupants of the vehicle.
