Dangerous operation of vehicle charge, Shorncliffe

Police have charged a 45-year-old man following a single vehicle traffic crash at Shorncliffe yesterday, February 16.

It will be alleged the Ford Falcon was travelling along Rainbow Street when the driver lost control and collided with a light pole at the intersection of Palm Avenue around 1.50pm.

The 45-year-old driver received minor injuries in the crash, while the 53-year-old male passenger was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

A 45-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

He is expected to appear before Sandgate Magistrates Court on March 18.

Investigations are ongoing.
