Daniel Andrews' dental care cut leaves Victorians suffering

Liberal Party Victoria

Thousands of Victorians cannot get the dental care they deserve and are being left suffering on an ever-growing waiting list under the Andrews Labor Government.

The 2022-23 State Budget has revealed a $24.2 million cut to dental services, preventing 44,000 Victorians from receiving vital dental treatment over the coming year.

It comes as general dental wait times in Melbourne's west have blown out to 45.3 months in December 2021 from 15.8 months in June 2020, adding an extra 2.5 years on the waiting list.

Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier said that it's unacceptable that Victorians are being denied the level of healthcare they need and deserve.

"Victorians can't afford another four years of Daniel Andrews' inability to manage this healthcare crisis that his government created.

"Communities don't need Labor spin, just a government that will stop the politics, fix the problems and deliver the health services locals deserve.

"Only a Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government has a plan to halve the surgery waiting lists in Victoria."
