Darraweit Rd Intersections Reopen Amid Upgrade Completion

Works on the Darraweit Road upgrade in Wallan are nearing completion, with all intersections along the corridor now open to traffic.

While the majority of construction works are finished, some traffic management remains in place along Darraweit Road as final tasks are completed. Drivers are asked to follow signage and allow extra time when travelling through the area.

The remaining works will be limited to footpath works, which are scheduled to be completed in January.

The project has delivered significant improvements to road safety, drainage and overall road condition along a key local route, supporting safer and more reliable travel for residents and road users.

The upgrade includes full road pavement reconstruction, improved drainage, new kerb and channel, and footpath improvements designed to enhance safety for all users.

The project is part of the Australian Government's $11 million commitment towards the Macedon and Mitchell Shire Roads project.

A total of $5.5 million is being provided towards the Darraweit Road works and the completed Wellington Street upgrade. Mitchell Shire Council is also committing $200,000 towards the projects.

Council thanks residents, businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation while works are finalised.
