Dash-cam vision sought after teen cyclist critically injured at Nowra

Police are appealing for dash-cam vision after a young cyclist was critically injured in a crash with a utility on the South Coast at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Bridge Road and the Princes Highway, Nowra, after a white Isuzu D-Max utility, travelling south on the Princes Highway, and a BMX rider collided about 3.10pm on Sunday (5 July 2020).

The rider, a 15-year-old boy, suffered serious head and chest injuries and was airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead, where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the ute, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

As inquiries continue, police from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.

Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area, specifically motorists travelling north and south on the highway near Bridge Road, who may have dash-cam footage of the crash.
