Deakin University academic partnership

Department of Defence

Deakin University has been awarded the Australian War College contract to provide academic and support services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Australian Public Service (APS) and international military students.

Deakin University has been selected as the preferred tender for the Australian War College Academic Agreement, commencing as the provider in January 2023.

Commander Australian Defence College, Major General Mick Ryan said the contract with Deakin University would not only support Defence's 2020 Force Structure Plan, but jobs across the academic sector within Australia.

"Deakin University will help deliver training and education to the future workforce of the ADF and APS," Major General Ryan said.

"The contract ensures the continuation of world-leading joint professional military education to our people and invited international partners, to prepare them for the future challenges their careers will bring.

The Australian War College, located in Weston Creek, ACT, contributes key leadership and professional development training through two flagship courses; the Australian Command and Staff Course and Defence Strategic Studies Course.
