Death of a patient from the Regional Psychiatric Centre

December 10, 2018 – Saskatoon, SK – Correctional Service Canada

On December 8, 2018, Peter Edwards, a patient from the Regional Psychiatric Centre died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.

At the time of his death, Mr. Edwards, 64 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for First Degree Murder since October 18, 1984.

The patient's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
