On August 11, 2020, Donald Duane Bartlett, an inmate from Dorchester Penitentiary - Medium sector, died of apparent natural causes, while in our custody.
At the time of his death, Mr. Bartlett was in Correctional Service Canada (CSC) custody while on remand for outstanding charges that had been laid in Nova Scotia.
The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, CSC will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
