Death of an inmate from Millhaven Institution - Regional Treatment Centre 4 December

On December 1, 2020, James Rolland, an inmate from Millhaven Institution Regional Treatment Centre died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.

At the time of his death, Mr. Rolland, had been serving a sentence of 6 years for sexual assault, invite sexual touching person under 14 and sexual interference person under 14, since his sentence commenced on September 13, 2018.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
