Decade of Women Transforming Property Leadership

Designed to address the traditional underrepresentation of women in the property industry, the program helps build confidence, increase visibility and expand professional networks through a one-on-one sponsorship program where participants are supported by industry leaders. It also offers events, masterclasses, and access to industry professional development.

Property Council Victorian Executive Director Cath Evans says that 500 Women in Property is helping to close the leadership gap and boost women through the property workforce.

"The property industry offers incredible career opportunities to both women and men but has traditionally been male dominated throughout history.

"In 2025, it's inspiring to see so many talented women rising through the ranks of Victoria's property industry - driving deals, leading projects, and shaping our cities.

"Over the past decade, 500 Women in Property has supported more than 5,500 women by breaking down barriers, expanding professional networks, and amplifying their voices.

"At a time when the sector faces critical skills shortages, programs like this aren't just empowering - they're essential to the industry's productivity, innovation and long-term resilience," Ms Evans said.

Property Council Diversity and Inclusion Director Nicole Battley reflects on how far women have come over the past decade since launching this program.

"Women have always been a valuable part of the property sector, but there have been undeniable barriers that have held women back from achieving their true potential," Ms Battley said.

"By increasing networking opportunities and opening doors to these talented women, we are ensuring they are seen, heard and supported into the leadership roles they deserve"

Fiona Fox is the Portfolio Retail Design Manager at Haben, and a past participant of the program and current sponsor.

"500 Women in Property is an invaluable resource for women in the property sector," Ms Fox said.

"As a participant, I took advantage of the many opportunities to network. I used the master classes to inform the conversations with my sponsor, who was in a different area of my business.

"The many participants I met and still stay in touch with, gave me the opportunity to meet likeminded people. I used this to help shape the course of my career trajectory."

"It's a privilege and joy to be a 2025-26 sponsor, and to pass on the knowledge and support that I was so grateful to receive myself. It's programs like 500 Women in Property that are breaking glass ceilings and allowing women to achieve their true potential in the workforce."
