Default Market Offer: have your say

We'd like your feedback on the Default Market Offer and Reference Price for electricity retailers.

In certain jurisdictions, the Default Market Offer caps the price that electricity retailers can charge consumers on standing offers. It also sets a Reference Price that customers can use to equally compare energy plans from different retailers. These changes were introduced under the Competition and Consumer (Industry Code - Electricity Retail) Regulations 2019.

Your feedback will help us understand how the Default Market Offer and Reference Price have affected consumer outcomes and electricity prices, and what changes could be considered to improve the efficacy of the Code.

Read the discussion paper and provide feedback on our Consultation Hub.

The survey closes on 11 October 2021.
