Delayed Hospital Will Not Address Labor's Health Crisis

Liberal Party Victoria

The Allan Labor Government is patting itself on the back for delaying the opening of Footscray Hospital.

Initially promised to be open in "late 2025," today the Minister for Health, Mary-Anne Thomas, announced its opening will be now delayed until at least February 2026.

Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier, said: "The Allan Labor Government is diverting billions of dollars to the Suburban Rail Loop, leaving vital frontline services under-funded and Victorians waiting longer for essential care."

"This is another example of Labor's mismanagement, delays, and cost blowouts resulting in empty hospitals, prisons, and courts."

"The Liberals and Nationals have a plan to restore budget responsibility, cut waste and protect frontline services."

"Labor cannot manage health, cannot manage money and Victorians are paying the price."
