Delivering world class education to Australian Defence Force's future leaders

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) will deliver tertiary education and training at the Australian Defence Force Academy for another seven years following the signing of a renewed partnership agreement.

This Federal Government investment will ensure the Australian Defence Force's future leaders are equipped with a world class education, and the rigorous and strategic thinking needed to tackle contemporary and future operations.

Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC praised the 50-year partnership between Defence and UNSW that has made the Australian Defence Force Academy an exemplar in military studies.

"The university first began delivering educational programs at the Faculty of Military Studies, at the Royal Military College in Duntroon in 1967," Minister Reynolds said.

"This new agreement will reinforce and invigorate the strong partnership between Defence, the Academy and UNSW.

"The university will continue to provide the future leaders of the Australian Defence Force with the foundational knowledge and high-level skills essential for their military profession."

UNSW was founded in 1949, and has established itself as a leading research, innovation, industry engagement and teaching institution.
