Deprivation of liberty and assault at Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD

Police have charged a man following an incident at Upper Mount Gravatt yesterday evening where a woman was allegedly assaulted, Queensland Police say.

It alleged around 5.50pm, a man entered a dwelling on Dawson Road and assaulted a female resident causing scratches to her face whilst he held her against her will.

The woman managed to run to another room where she locked the door and called police.

It is further alleged that prior to leaving the address, the man took the woman’s mobile phone.

A short time later the man was taken into police custody and charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and robbery.

The 47-year-old Wishart man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday September 4.
