Deprivation of liberty investigation in Boondall, QLD

Police are investigating after a female driver was threatened on the side of the road at knifepoint by an unknown man in Boondall late last month, Queensland Police say.

A woman in her 20s was driving her car on Sandgate Road around 6pm on Tuesday, June 26 and as she approached the Gateway Motorway, she was overtaken suddenly by a car which stopped abruptly in front of her.

A man got out of the older style red Holden sedan with a rusted bonnet and approached the woman’s vehicle before pulling her out of the car by her hair and threatening her with a knife.

The woman screamed and another motorist, a man in his 40s wearing a high visibility shirt and driving a white ute, stopped and provided assistance.

The man then returned to his car and fled the scene.

The woman did not suffer any physical injures as a result of the incident and the woman reported the incident to police on July 10.

Police have released a COMFIT of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Detectives are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, the man in the white ute who helped the woman or anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time with dashcam to contact them.
