Deprivation of liberty investigation, Slade Point

Mackay detectives are appealing to two teenagers involved in an alleged deprivation of liberty incident in Sarina on Saturday night (February 12) to contact them.

The pair, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both from Sarina are urged to make contact as soon as possible.

It will be alleged that two teenage boys, aged 13 and 14, were walking along Coles Hill Road, at around 7.20pm when a blue sedan pulled up.

The 13-year-old boy, who knew the two teenage occupants of the car, a male and female, voluntarily got into the vehicle.

The 14-year-old boy, who did not know the pair refused to get into the vehicle and it will be alleged a bladed weapon was then produced and the boy made to enter the car.

The car then drove to Slade Point where the teens pulled over and parked the vehicle. The 14-year-old took this opportunity to flee the car and ran to a nearby business where police were called.

The 13-year-old boy remained with the vehicle and its occupants.

No one was injured.

Police located the vehicle around 10.40pm in the Mackay area and following a short pursuit intercepted the car. The two teenage occupants were taken into custody . Following police investigations these two people were released from custody as it was determined they had not been in the car at the time of the earlier incident involving the 14-year-old.

Police investigations are continuing.
