Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks' Meeting With U.K. National Security Adviser Sir Stephen Lovegrove

Pentagon Spokesman Eric Pahon provided the following readout:

Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks met with U.K. National Security Adviser Sir Stephen Lovegrove to discuss issues of mutual concern, to include Ukraine, AUKUS, and the defense industrial base.

The deputy secretary commended U.K. leadership for providing substantial support to Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia's brutal and unprovoked invasion and for their efforts to coordinate donations from Allies and partners. She also applauded the U.K.'s leadership within NATO.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed progress toward ensuring peace and security in the Indo-Pacific through the AUKUS trilateral partnership.

Lovegrove and Hicks expressed their commitment to deepening the U.S.-U.K. defense and security relationship.
