Deputy Secretary Speaks at Roma, Traveller Women's Conference in Skopje

At the opening of the 9th International Roma and Traveller Women's Conference "Building Equality Together", in Skopje, North Macedonia, Deputy Secretary General Bjorn Berge emphasised that the Roma Women's conferences have provided the opportunity for Roma and Traveller women to address issues affecting their own and their families' lives.

"I know it is not an easy task to address the multiple challenges that Roma and Traveller women and girls face every day, but I believe that together with all of you - we can meet these challenges, as we will only succeed if we work closely together with civil society", he said.

The conference started today 30th November in Skopje in the presence of the Vice-Prime Minister Bojan Maricic, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, North Macedonia, Jovanka Trancevska and representatives of Roma and Traveller women's networks from several member states.
