A detective senior constable has been charged following an investigation by Taskforce Salus.
The 68-year-old male officer has been charged with two counts of indecent assault.
The charges relate to two incidents in August 1997 while the officer, who is from the southern metropolitan region, was on duty.
He will appear in court at a later date.
