Detectives appeal for info following reported abduction and assault of teen at Griffith, NSW

Detectives are appealing to the community for information following reports a teenager was abducted and assaulted in the Riverina region over the Easter long weekend, NSW Police say.

Earlier this month, officers from Murrumbidgee Police District were contacted after a teenage boy disclosed he had been taken from his Griffith home by an unknown man and woman, driven to another home, and assaulted over Easter.

The boy was taken to Griffith Base Hospital for treatment.

The matter was referred to detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, who commenced an investigation under Strike Force Coups.

Strike force detectives are appealing to the community for assistance to identify a man and woman, who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, blonde or light brown hair, a nose ring, and has a distinct tattoo on her back.

The man is described as being between 175cm and 180cm. He was seen wearing a high-visibility shirt.

It is believed the pair are well-known to each other.

Detectives are urging anyone who may know the pair, who has information that may assist their investigation, or who noticed anything suspicious in the Griffith area over Easter, to contact Crime Stoppers.
