Detectives calling for footage as they continue to investigate Evandale armed robbery

Detectives in Launceston are appealing for assistance from the public as they continue to investigate the armed robbery of the Evandale Post Office yesterday morning.

A man reportedly entered the business on High Street about 10am on Wednesday and produced a weapon, directing a staff member to open a safe before leaving on foot with a significant amount of cash.

He is described as being about 187cm tall with a very slim build, and a distinctive scar on his nose, which is crooked and/or potentially broken.

He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper and carrying a shopping bag and is believed to have left Evandale in a green, older-style Holden Commodore.

Anyone who was in the Evandale area on Wednesday, 19 February 2020 between 9.45am and 10.15am and who has dash-cam or other footage is asked to submit it through the Evidence Portal.

Anyone with information should contact Launceston CIB on 131 444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au
