Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged two men and seized 3kg of drugs with a potential street value of $1.5 million, following an investigation into the alleged kidnapping of two people.
About 5.30pm on Sunday 19 April 2026, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to Ironside Street, St Johns Park, following reports of a fight.
Police were told two men were allegedly assaulted then kidnapped by five men – armed with a firearm and electronic stun devices – they'd arranged to meet.
Local police commenced inquiries before the investigation was taken over by State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Vexil.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives will allege the two men were there to supply 6kg of cocaine to the group, who allegedly kidnapped the men in attempt to steal the drugs.
Following extensive inquiries, about 7.30am on Tuesday 21 July 2026 strike force detectives executed a search warrant in Wakeley.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity.
He was refused bail and appeared at Fairfield Local Court the same day, where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 17 September 2026.
As inquiries continues, about 7.50am yesterday (Wednesday 22 July 2026), strike force detectives – with assistance from Northwest Metropolitan Operations Support Group – executed a search warrant in Ropes Crossing.
During the search, police seized 2.3kg of cocaine, 60g of methylamphetamine with a potential estimated street value of $1.5 million, 100 rounds of ammunition and three mobile phones.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity, and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.
He was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Thursday 23 July 2026).
