Detectives investigate Brunswick robbery and assault

North West Metro Regional Crime Squad detectives are investigating after a man was robbed and assaulted in Brunswick on 13 April, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told the 28-year-old man was standing outside an address on Donald Street about 2.10am waiting for a friend to park their car.

At the same time, a vehicle with a number of people on board pulled up at the address.

Four occupants of the vehicle got out and approached the victim, yelling abuse.

The victim retreated into the foyer of an apartment building, where the group followed.

While there, they grabbed him, threatened him and pushed him against a wall before forcefully taking his backpack, which contained a wallet and other items.

The victim was punched to the head and sustained minor injuries.

The offenders then fled in the vehicle they arrived in.

No weapons were sighted or produced during the incident.

Police have released images and CCTV footage of some men who they believe are able to assist with their enquiries.

The vehicle has been described as a light blue Hyundai Getz hatchback.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
