Detectives investigate firearms incident at Cranbourne

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a firearms incident in Cranbourne last night, Victoria Police say.

It’s understood four unknown offenders attended at house in Marklin Street about 11.30pm.

When the victim answered the door he was assaulted by one of the offenders before noticing a long-arm being pointed at him.

The victim, a 38-year-old Cranbourne man, closed the door and retreated to the rear of the house when a shot was heard.

A shot was fired through the door which went through the lounge-room and struck a wall on the opposite side of the room.

There were 6 people in the house at the time and no injuries have been reported.

The first offender is perceived to Caucasian male, about 200cm tall, wearing dark clothing.

The second is perceived to be a Caucasian male, aged between 17 to 25-years-old, about 167cm tall, with a solid build, short straight brown hair and sparse facial hair lighter than the hair on his head

He was wearing a grey hooded top.

The third and fourth offenders are perceived to be of African appearance, aged 17 to 20-year-old, about 160cm tall and with slim builds.

They were both wearing black hooded tops.
