Detectives investigate food court armed robbery

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a Melbourne shopping centre last week (7 July).

Investigators have been told two teenage victims were sitting at the shopping centre food court on LaTrobe Street when they were approached by a group of four males about 2pm.

One of the men sat down beside the 15-year-old Mount Eliza victim and took his mobile phone which was sitting on the table.

He told the boy he would take his phone if he didn't hand over cash to the man.

The teen told the man he didn't have any cash and the offender then turned their attention to the other victim, a 15-year-old Mount Eliza boy.

One of the men produced a knife and threatened both the boys.

The boy handed over an amount of cash and the offenders left the area.

Investigators have released images of the men who they'd like to speak to in relation to the incident.
