Detectives investigate Maribyrnong armed robbery

Transit Embona Taskforce detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a tram stop in Maribyrnong last month.

Investigators have been told two male teenage victims were approached by a group of males while at a tram stop near the corner of Rosamond Road and Aquatic Drive about 8.30pm on 20 June.

During the incident two of the offenders threatened the victims with knuckle dusters before one of the victims was assaulted.

The offenders stole both the victim's mobile phones, wallets, jackets, a watch and shoes.

The offending group then boarded an 82 tram towards Avondale Heights.

The 17-year-old victim sustained minor injuries.

The offenders are described as Maori or Pacific Islander and aged between 17 and 18 years of age.

Investigators have released an image of two of the males they'd like to speak to in relation to the incident.
