Detectives investigate Preston altercation

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an altercation in Preston where three men sustained stab wounds, Victoria Police say.

It is believed two groups of men became involved in a physical altercation about 10.20pm on 31 August in a car park on the corner of Bell and Albert streets.

The two groups then got into their vehicles and stopped in the vicinity of Albert Street, where the altercation continued.

During the incident, a 22-year-old man from Lalor, 23-year-old man from Preston and 22-year old man from Heidelberg West sustained non-life threatening stab wounds.

The offenders then left the scene in their vehicle

Investigators have released images of three men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

All are perceived as Caucasian in appearance.

One wore a black tracksuit top and pants with a thick white stripe down the side and red runners.

The second wore a blue hoodie, black pants and white runners with a blue and black cap.

The third man was wearing black sneakers, a black hoodie and green cargo pants.

Detectives have also released an image of a distinctive blue Holden Commodore which they believe the men may have been travelling in.

The car has a yellow quarter panel on the rear left passenger side.
