Detectives investigate robbery and assault - Wheelers Hill

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following a robbery and assault on a teenager in Wheelers Hill in June, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told the 16-year-old boarded the route 848 bus at Dandenong Railway Station about 8.30pm on 28 June.

Another male, who had been standing with two others at the station, got onto the same bus as the victim and sat in the seat behind him.

The man followed the victim off the bus as it stopped at the intersection of Ferntree Gully and Jacaranda roads in Wheelers Hill about 9.35pm.

He then punched the victim to the ground and demanded his belongings, fleeing with items including a phone and headphones.

The victim sustained minor injuries and facial bruising.

Detectives have released CCTV and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Pacific Islander in appearance, about 180cm tall and aged in his late teens with a slim build.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap and a black and white knit jumper with a hood.

Police have also released images of two other men believed to have been with the male at Dandenong Railway Station in the hope someone may be able to identify them.

These two men were not involved in the assault but may be able to provide details on the man’s identity.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
