Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a series of burglaries in Malvern in May.
In the first incident, it is believed a man forced his way into a fast-food restaurant, on Wednesday 14 May about 7am.
The offender stole the cash drawer containing approximately $300.
Soon after the man is believed to have attended a charity shop, forcibly removing a lockbox and gaining access to the store.
It is not known if any items were stolen from the shop, which was ransacked.
The man then attended a nearby restaurant, forcibly removing a lockbox and gaining access.
He stole $500 cash and other items from the premise.
Investigators have released images and CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his 40s with a medium build.
The man was seen wearing a black hat, blue puffer vest, black long sleeve top, cargo pants and black shoes.
