Detectives Seize Car in Carlingford Shooting Probe

Homicide Squad detectives have seized a vehicle as part of their investigation into a fatal public place shooting in Sydney's north west.

About 7am on Wednesday 15 July 2026, emergency services were called to North Rocks Road, Carlingford, following reports of a shooting.

Officers attached The Hills Police Area Command attended and found a 34-year-old man with significant injuries inside a car.

The man was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Local police established a crime scene before the matter was handed to State Crime Command's Homicide Squad under Strike Force Imperon.

Following extensive inquiries, about 6pm yesterday (Thursday 16 July 2026) strike force detectives – with assistance of Tactical Operations Unit – executed a crime scene warrant in South Wentworthville.

Two men – aged 42 and 66 – and a 49-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Granville Police Station.

During the search, detectives allegedly located and seized a white Porsche SUV as part of their investigation.

The 66-year-old man was charged with goods suspected stolen in/on premises (motor vehicle) and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 17 July 2026).

The other man and woman were released without charge.

Strike Force Imperon inquiries are continuing.
