Diesel Theft Charges, Greenbank

Officers from Centenary Crime Team have charged a man in relation to the alleged theft of more than $1,100,000 of diesel fuel over a 12-month period.

It will be alleged the man used stolen fuel cards to fraudulently obtain the fuel from unmanned diesel depots at Parkinson, Bundamba and Karawatha between December 2024 and December 2025.

During the execution of a search warrant at a Greenbank address on 24 March 2026, officers allegedly located evidence of the fuel thefts as well as other stolen property and a home-made taser device.

A 48-year-old Greenbank man has been charged with seven offences including two counts of receiving tainted property and one count each of fraud to the value of at least $100,000, enter premises and commit indictable offence, and unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon.

He first appeared before Richlands Magistrates Court on 25 March and was remanded in custody to reappear on 15 May.

South Brisbane District Centenary Crime Group Acting Detective Inspector Justin Anderson said the arrest is a timely reminder that theft on any level is a crime.

"Whether it's one tank of fuel or a large-scale diesel fraud, stealing is an offence which can land you before the court," he said.
