Disaster assistance for Hawkesbury community

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert is encouraging community members affected by the fires to seek assistance.

"There are a number of online forums and services to helping people cope with the trauma caused by the bushfires," Mayor Calvert said.

"If you have to leave your residence and you need somewhere to go, or you have lost your home and sustained damage to homes or contents, then Disaster Welfare Assistance can help you with practical support and advice."

If you need Disaster Assistance, call the Disaster Welfare Assistance Line on 1800 018 444. The phone service operates seven days from 8:30am to 4:30pm. They can provide advice about:

    • Temporary Accommodation
    • Emergency Temporary Accommodation
    • Rentstart Bond loans
    • During business hours
    • After business hours assistance
